The Lake Orion DDA and Oakland County Planning are hosting a “Lake Orion Wayfinding & Trail Connection Forum” on Wednesday, August 6 from 4:00pm-7:00pm. It is being held at the Orion Art Center, 115 S. Anderson, in Lake Orion. It is open to the public, and they would like to solicit input from trail users, downtown stakeholders, and anyone interested in a Paint Creek Trail/Polly Ann Trail connection.

Construction on Burdick Street in Downtown Oxford will begin approximately 6/9/14. No closure of the Polly Ann Trail is anticipated.
Trail Construction from Curtis to W. Leonard Roads: Enbridge gas pipeline will be closing the trail within the next 10 days (June 2014). Detour signs to go around the construction site will be posted by Enbridge to assist trail users. According to Enbridge the trail should be closed less than a day or two. Please use caution in and around this area with the increase in traffic. We will continue to keep our loyal trail users updated as information comes to us. Safe travels!

THE POLLY ANN TRAIL AMBASSADOR PROGRAM TO START
The Polly Ann Trail is one of our greatest natural resources available to the general public in northern Oakland County. As use continues to grow the Polly Ann Trail Council, through the guidance of Trail Manager Patrick Ball are seeking regular users of the trail to become Ambassadors of the trail.
The trail manager is looking for 20-30 volunteers who use the trail two days a week or more, like interacting with people, and willing to share the good word about the trail, its activities and local surroundings. The Ambassadors will also by the eyes and ears of the trail keeping lines of communication open between the users and the trail manager. The Ambassadors will also help promote the trail at certain events and activities through the year.
We also welcome any area businesses along the path or in the villages that it passes through to help support this endeavor. Pleas again contact the trail manager at the email address above.

Welcome to the Polly Ann Trail Website.
As the new trail manager I look forward to seeing you somewhere along the way on the 16.4 mile path. As an avid cyclist I hope to be personally very active on the trail. Prior to this adventure I used to be the Oxford Athletic Director (11 years) and I am currently a personal trainer at Anytime Fitness in Oxford. I coach, as well as personally participate in triathlons (the short ones).
It is my goal to make this trail safe, well supported, and active throughout the year. I hope you enjoy this wonderful recreational setting we have and respect the trail for all who use it.

The trail is closed south of Clarkston Road in Orion Township for repairs.. Proposed completion is Friday, July 19th, but may be delayed by weather or other factors. We will announce the completion after confirmation. We apologize for any inconvenience. UPDATE: CONSTRUCTION COMPLETE. TRAIL OPEN!
ROCHESTER ROAD CLOSURE
RCOC is resurfacing this section of Rochester Road. The road will be closed during the project, in two phases. The first stage is the section from south of Mack Road to the Village of Leonard. During this stage, the detour for through traffic will be Lakeville Road to Lake George Road to Leonard Road and back to Rochester and vice versa.
The second state will be the section of Rochester from just south of Lakeville Road to south of Mack Road. During this stage, the detour route for through traffic will be Brewer Road to Townsend Road to Mack Road and back to Rochester and vice versa. Project completion: NOVEMBER 2013.
Utility Work On the Polly Ann
ITC Utilities will be doing some routine vegetation management south of Oxford, adjacent to the Polly Ann Trail, starting January 7th through the 18th. The trail will not be closed, but please use extra caution when traveling the area during that time.
Horse Path Work Has Begun
Work has begun on the Horse Path in Leonard between Leonard Rd. and Gerst Rd. Intermittent trail closures in the area are possible through February.
Special Meeting Called
On Tuesday, September 25th at 3:00 pm, at the Oxford Village Offices, the Polly Ann Trail Management Council will hold a special meeting to review the 2013 budget and other financial matters.
Trail Closure in Orion Township
Beginning tomorrow, Friday the 22nd, the Polly Ann Trail will be CLOSED to all traffic in Orion Township from the north Joslyn Rd. crossing to the south Josyln Rd. crossing. West Bay Geophysical will be conducting seismic testing on the trail for the next few days. We apologize for any inconvenience.
Barrier Removal for Handicap Access
The Polly Ann Trail will be removing all barriers to allow access for handicapped persons in compliance with the federally mandated Other Power Driven Mobility Device (OPDMD) Policy. For more information, click here.
Rural Pearl 2012
The 2012 Rural Pearl of a Ride has been cancelled due to lack of volunteer, sponsor and participant interest. If you know of a volunteer organization or business that would like to help bring back the Rural Pearl in 2013, please contact the Trail Manager.

The Polly Ann Trail hosts The Detroit Institute of Arts Inside/Out Art Exhibit.
Starting September 14th, you can get a little culture in Mother Natures Art Gallery. The DIA will install special weatherized recreations of artwork currently on display at the DIA on The Polly Ann Trail at the the Burdick Street and Drahner Road crossings in the Village of Oxford.
